Removal & Correction Policy
Last updated: February 2026
1. Right to Removal
Any individual listed in the Connected to Media database has the right to request the removal of their details from the database at any time, without the need to provide a reason and at no cost. This right is absolute and is not subject to preconditions. We respect your right to privacy and commit to handling every removal request promptly, efficiently, and respectfully. The removal will include all your identifiable details from the database, including name, role, organization, contact information, media interest areas, and any other associated data. Once removal is complete, your details will no longer be accessible to any user on the platform.
2. Data Correction
If you find that details listed about you in the database are incorrect, inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete, you have the right to submit a correction request. We will update the information according to the corrected details you provide, after verifying your identity. You can request correction of any detail, including name, role, organization, phone number, email address, areas of expertise, or any other information appearing in your profile. If your role has changed or you have left the organization listed in the database, we will update the record accordingly or remove it upon your request. Correction requests are handled with the same level of priority as removal requests.
3. Who Can Submit a Request
A removal or correction request may be submitted by the individual whose details appear in the database, or by an authorized representative on their behalf. An authorized representative may be an attorney, a first-degree family member, or any other person who has received explicit written authorization from the individual listed in the database. When a request is submitted by an authorized representative, a power of attorney or signed authorization document from the listed individual must be attached, along with identifying details of both parties. In the case of a deceased individual, a first-degree family member may submit a removal request accompanied by a death certificate and a document proving the family relationship.
4. Submitting a Request
You can submit a removal or correction request through one of the following methods: (a) via the removal request form on the website, available at the bottom of every page under the "Removal Request" link; (b) by sending an email to support@connectedtomedia.com with the subject line "Removal Request" or "Correction Request"; (c) through the Contact page on the website. When submitting a request, please include the following details: your full name as it appears in the database, an email address or phone number for verification purposes, the type of request (full removal, partial removal, or correction), and in the case of a correction request, the desired updated details. Upon receipt of your request, an automatic confirmation with a unique reference number for tracking will be sent to you.
5. Verification Process
To protect the privacy of individuals listed in the database and prevent unauthorized removals or modifications, we conduct a brief identity verification process before processing any request. Verification is performed through one of the following methods: sending a verification code to the email address or phone number associated with the record in the database, or alternatively, verification through answering identifying questions related to the details appearing in the record. The verification process is intended solely to confirm the requester's identity and is not retained beyond what is required to process the request. If identity cannot be verified through these methods, we may request an official identification document, which will be deleted immediately after verification is complete.
6. Timelines
We commit to processing removal and correction requests within the following timelines: an acknowledgment of receipt will be sent automatically within 24 hours of submission; the verification process will be completed within 48 hours of receiving the request; the actual removal or correction will be carried out within 48 hours of verification completion; a confirmation of the completed change will be sent immediately upon completion. In complex cases requiring additional verification, such as requests submitted by authorized representatives, the process may take up to 7 business days. In all cases, we will keep you updated on the status of your request. If the timelines stated above have elapsed and you have not received a response, please contact us again and we will handle your request with the highest priority.
7. Scope of Removal
When a removal request is approved and executed, the removal applies to all of the following components: the complete record from the active database, including all personal and professional details; internal search results on the platform, so that your name will no longer appear in any search conducted by system users; data cache and temporary copies stored for performance purposes; periodic backups, which will be updated in the next backup cycle and no later than 30 days from the date of removal; any internal or external search index under our control. Please note that we are unable to remove information from external search engines such as Google; however, after removing your details from our database, the information will naturally disappear from external search engine results within a matter of days to weeks, depending on their crawling policies.
8. Prevention of Re-entry
After the removal of your details from the database is complete, we add your identity to an internal blocklist to ensure that your details are not re-entered into the database in the future, even if a public source republishes them. The blocklist retains only the minimum necessary identifying details (such as your full name and its variations) required solely for identification and prevention of re-entry, and is not accessible to platform users. Should you wish in the future to reappear in the database, you can contact us and we will remove your name from the blocklist. This mechanism operates indefinitely unless you request otherwise.
9. Partial Removal
We understand that you may wish to remain listed in the database but remove only certain details. You can submit a partial removal request and specify exactly which fields you wish to have removed. For example, you can request removal of a mobile phone number while keeping an email address, or removal of direct contact details while retaining only your name and role. The partial removal will be executed according to your exact request, and you can update your preferences at any time by submitting an additional request. Even in the case of partial removal, the removed fields will be treated in the same manner as a full removal, including removal from cache, backups, and indexes.
10. Appeal Process
In the rare event that a removal or correction request is denied, you will receive a detailed notification including the reasons for the denial. You may file an appeal against the decision within 30 days of receiving the denial notice. Appeals should be submitted in writing to the email address support@connectedtomedia.com with the subject line "Appeal of Removal/Correction Decision" and the original reference number. The appeal will be reviewed by a senior authority who was not involved in the original decision, and a reasoned response will be provided within 14 business days. If the appeal is also denied, you may contact the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority to file a complaint.
11. Legal Basis
Our removal and correction policy is grounded in the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, and the Privacy Protection Regulations (Conditions for Holding and Keeping Data and Procedures for Transfer of Data Between Public Bodies), 5746-1986. In accordance with Section 14 of the Privacy Protection Law, every individual has the right to review information held about them in a database, and in accordance with Section 15, to request the correction or deletion of information that is inaccurate, incomplete, unclear, or outdated. We are committed to complying with all relevant provisions of Israeli law, including the directives of the Privacy Protection Authority. The database is registered as required by law, and we operate with full transparency vis-a-vis the competent authorities.
