Johnnie Cochran:

American civil rights attorney Johnnie Cochran (October 2, 1937 – March 29, 2005) won numerous important cases. Many people see him as a civil rights pioneer who stood up against racism and police brutality while also defending famous people.

His most well-known memory comes from his participation in the O.J. Simpson trial, during which he is credited with saying, “If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit.”

Early life of Johnnie :

In October of 1937, Johnnie L. Cochran Jr. was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was one of four children. ,johnnie cochran middle school is his own house his mom taught him everything and his father worked as an insurance salesman.

After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, Cochran went on to earn his legal degree at Loyola Law School, located in Los Angeles. Cochran practiced criminal defence law after graduating.

Attorney Johnnie Cochran handled a number of well-known celebrity cases.  1959 saw him graduate with a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. At first, Cochran made his money by selling insurance policies, but he soon started studying law at Loyola Marymount University School of Law.

 

 

In 1963, after passing the California bar exam, he started working as a deputy city attorney in the criminal division. A few years later, he started working as a private attorney for Gerald Lenoir, a local criminal defence attorney. Cochran made the decision to start his own legal practice, Cochran, Atkins & Evans, not long after he started working with Lenoir.

Rise to Fame:

As a representative of the families of those killed in the 1965 Watts riots in Los Angeles, Cochran’s name started to surface in the press in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

He was a fervent supporter of civil rights and worked to guarantee that African Americans were treated fairly by the criminal justice system. Celebrities who came to him for legal advice and representation also began to regard him favourably.
